About Us

Philanthropy Northwest promotes, facilitates and drives collaborative action by philanthropic organizations to strengthen communities in our region.

As one of the largest regional associations of grantmakers in the nation, our members represent a diverse group of funders from six Northwest states – Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming. As a “network of networks,” Philanthropy Northwest helps our members find partners who share their interests and priorities in order to move their work forward together.

Philanthropy Northwest is a reliable source for programming and events that help grantmakers in our region stay connected to information and to each other. Our programs focus on the issues that matter most right now, and they are relevant for institutional funders of all sizes – from small family foundations to large corporate giving programs. Philanthropy Northwest's annual conference – the largest convening of funders in our region – offers unparalleled networking opportunities alongside educational sessions from experts in the field.

Philanthropy Northwest develops and shares resources that enable funders to work efficiently and creatively. As home to Mission Investors Exchange, Philanthropy Northwest educates members who are interested in using mission-driven investments to achieve their philanthropic goals. The Giving Practice, our consulting team, brings together national experience and local expertise to provide customized support with strategic planning, leadership coaching, funder collaboratives and more. Our public policy work helps increase the effectiveness of our members in matters of policy, advocacy and civic engagement, by keeping them connected to policymakers in order to understand the environment in which they work.
