About this event
Please join the virtual Alaska Funders Group meeting for the latest updates on COVID-19 related challenges and opportunities. The group has recognized that the pandemic has an increased impact on our nonprofit partners and communities. In order to be better coordinated with each other, the Alaska Funders Group meetings have increased in frequency from quarterly to monthly until further notice. This meeting begins at 8:30am AK.
These monthly meetings will be an opportunity to hear updates on community needs and share out on current philanthropic responses. Funders not located in Alaska but provide funding there are welcome to join. Please contact group co-chairs Alexandra McKay, Rasmuson Foundation and Elizabeth Ripley, Mat-Su Health Foundation, to propose meeting agenda topics.
About the meeting:
Eligibility: Participation in this meeting is open to philanthropic organizations that are currently making grants in Alaska. This includes private and family foundations, corporate foundations and giving programs, community and public foundations, tribal corporations and nations, governmental grantmaking programs and CDFI institutions with a philanthropic focus. You do not need to be a Philanthropy Northwest member to participate but do need to represent an organizational philanthropic institution. It is not appropriate for non-profit organizations or individuals to attend. If you are unsure about your eligibility, please contact Danielle Crystal.
Background: Philanthropy Northwest supports the Alaska Funders Group, a network of our members and other grantmakers who fund in Alaska. The group meets throughout the year to share information, learn from each other, and get to know their peers in the Alaska funding community.
