The board of directors of the Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers has announced the appointment of longtime philanthropy executive David Biemesderfer as the organization’s next president and CEO. Over the next two years, the Forum will be refining and putting into action a new vision through an inclusive, collaborative and co-designed process with current and new partners.
David is currently president and CEO of Florida Philanthropic Network, one of our sister regional associations, and a valued colleague and friend to us here at Philanthropy Northwest. We are tremendously excited to continue working with him in this new role, which he will begin in January.
As Philanthropy New York's Michael Remaley writes, "The important news is that the nation’s largest philanthropic network has chosen a leader who will guide the Forum and its members — and that includes all of you — into a more collaborative, connected and smart next phase."
The Forum is the largest network serving philanthropy in America, consisting of 33 regional associations — including Philanthropy Northwest — with more than 5,500 participating foundations, family funds and corporate philanthropists across the country. Our next opportunity is to strengthen this national network and deepen our collaboration — with each other and the issue-based, identity-based and practice-based affinity groups and infrastructure organizations — for the greater good of philanthropy.
