About this event
Join Philanthropy Northwest and the Regional Community Foundation Network for a conversation about the management and decision-making around difficult grants. Tom Kelly, consultant for Hawaii Community Foundation, Michelle DeWitt, executive director of Bethel Community Services Foundation, and Karen Bilowith, president and CEO of Idaho Community Foundation, will share how each of their community foundations are thinking about and managing their more controversial grants.
During this conversation, we will discuss:
- Funding religious organizations and organizations that are involved in political activities
- What processes and approaches community foundations go through when evaluating whether or not to make a difficult grant
- How to best be prepared if your community foundation funds a grant or organization that is controversial in the community
