This hike is a beautiful opportunity to get out and move with fellow PNW24 colleagues at the end of the day! This is a group hike up the Mount Sentinel "M" Trail, located directly behind the University of Montana University Center building. The “M” on the west face of Mount Sentinel has been a Missoula landmark since 1908, when Forestry Club members forged a zigzag trail up the mountain and students carried up stones to shape the symbol of the University of Montana. The hike is about two miles roundtrip, but please note this is a steep path with 11 switchbacks and 620 feet in elevation gain.
